For Week 9: Saturday, February 18

Wrestling
• Teren Boland - Dover
Teren is the AAA Section Champion at 103 pounds. The senior has a 28-5 record this year.
• Kyle McMaster - Bermudian Springs
Kyle is the AA Section Champion at 135 pounds. The senior has a 31-5 record so far this season.
• Thomas Slaugh - Hanover
Thomas is the AA Section Champion at 152 pounds. He has a 34-3 record going into Districts.

Boys Swimming/Diving
• Kevin Marsteller - York Suburban
Kevin, a freshman, won the 200 Free (1:44.35) and 100 Back (54.18) at the YAIAA Championships last weekend.
• Zach Phillips - Susquehannock
Zack won the 500 Free (4:40.63) and 200 IM (1:56.46) at the YAIAA Championships last weekend.
• Jonathan Rubritz - Dover
Jonathan won the 100 Free (49.30) at the YAIAA Championships last weekend.

Girls Swimming/Diving
• Courtney McIntyre - West York
Courtney, a junior, won the 200 IM (2:11.70) and 100 Breast (1:08.48) in the YAIAA Championships last weekend.
• Lauren Schmittle - York Suburban
Lauren, a freshman, won the 50 Free (25.15) at the YAIAA Championships last weekend.
• Leigh Waltemeyer - York Suburban
Leigh, a junior, won the 100 Back (1:02.03) at the YAIAA Championships last weekend.

For Week 8: Saturday, February 11

Girls Basketball
• Emily Herr - Dallastown
Emily is a three sport player at Dallastown. She also plays on the tennis and soccer squads.
• Sam Ward - Red Lion
Sam plays guard on the Lions team. She is a two-year starter for the DI Champs.

Boys Basketball
• Garrett Brown - York Catholic
Garrett is a starter on the basketball team and also plays on the line for the Irish football team.
• Ian Childers - Susquehannock
Ian is a three-year basketball letterman and also started on the Division Champion Football Team.

Wrestling
• Michael Langer - Spring Grove
Mike is the Rockets 215 pounder and also a member of the football team. He is ranked #1 at 215 on the yaiaawrestling.com rankings.
• Mathias Smyser - West York
Mathias is the Bulldogs 130 pounder. He also has played football and ran cross country and track in his 4 years of high school sports.

Boys Swimming/Diving
• Eric Mitchell - Spring Grove
Eric swims the 500 Free and Relays for the Rockets. The senior also played football in the fall.

Girls Swimming/Diving
• Grace Tarka - Central
Grace is a freshman and one of the top swimmers for the Central swim program, which hopes to compete in the YAIAA next season at the varsity level.
• Tori Shearer - Dallastown
Tori is a freshman and, heading into this weekends YAIAA meet, has the fastest 50 Free time in the YAIAA this season.

For Week 7: Saturday, February 4

Girls Basketball
• Meg Bittle - Fairfield
Meg is averaging 8 ppg for Fairfield this year. The senior also plays volleyball and runs track in the spring.
• Shakayla Mitchell - York High
Shakayla, a senior, hit the 1,000 point mark with a 50 point game against West York earlier this season.

Boys Basketball
• Brian Long - West York
Brian, a senior, runs the floor for the Bulldog team. He is hitting 8 ppg and is deadly from 3-point range.
• Shane Gibbon - Fairfield
Shane, a senior, plays forward on the team and also wide-out during football season.

Ice Hockey
These 4 Red Lion seniors are the top scorers on this year's edition of Red Lion Ice Hockey - Josh Seward, Mike Winey, Dan Willman, and Brian Duffy.

Wrestling
• Mitch Killeen - Littlestown
Mitch, a senior, wrestles at 130 pounds. He has a 30-4 mark on the season and 95 career wins to date.
• Greg Conover - Littlestown
Greg, a senior, is 30-2 on the season at 145 pounds and has 80 wins in his career. He a three sport athlete at Littlestown... he plays football and runs track in the spring.

Boys Swimming/Diving
• Dan Ruppert - Dover
Dan swims the 100 Breast and Relays for the Eagles and plays football in the fall.
• Kyle Dute - Dover
Kyle is a sprinter in the 50 and 100 Free. He also plays on the Dover Ice Hockey team.

Girls Swimming/Diving
• Tara Steif - Dover
Tara swims the 200 IM, 500 Free and Relays for the Eagles.
• Paige Hoff - Dover
Paige, a senior, is the Eagles' top diver and also plays field hockey.
All four Dover Athletes are members of the National Honor Society.

For Week 6: Saturday, January 28

Girls Basketball
• Meggan Quinn - Red Lion
Meggan hit for a season high 33 Saturday in the Lion's win over Reading. The senior STAR is headed for Penn State next season. She is hitting for 18 ppg on the YAVarsity stat line this season and will be leading the Red Lion squad into the YAIAA's next week and then into District III play.
• Sam Ruby - Spring Grove
Sam is the Rocket's 3-point shooter and has a 26 point game (7 three's) against Hershey this season to her credit. She is averaging 11 ppg on the YAVarsity stat line.

Boys Basketball
• Ben and Brandon Sullivan - Central
The senior twins are hitting for 11 and 8 ppg respectively for the Panthers this season.
• Matt Trimmer - Central
The leading scorer on this year's Central team, Matt is scoring 13 ppg on the year in the YAVarsity stat line.

Ice Hockey
Dallastown's trio of senior players in Drew Orwig, Cale Adams, and Dan McNichol. Orwig leads the 4-4-3 Wildcats in scoring with 19 points. Adams has 12 on the season and McNichol with only 2 goals gets a PlayMaker award for his tough aggressive play on the ice.

Wrestling
• Taylor Thornton - Dallastown
The Wildcats stud at 152 pounds is ranked No. 1 in the YAIAA this season.
• Justin Scott - Dallastown
Justin is a stud in the 130 pound weight class and also ranked No. 1 as a senior in the YAIAA this year. Both wrestlers will make a run into districts and hopefully states for the Wildcats in the coming weeks.

For Week 5: Saturday, January 21

Girls Basketball
• Megan Cox - Delone Catholic
Megan, a senior, is the team leader (18 ppg) and captain for Delone, which has its sights set on district and state competition again this season.
• Molly Ariail - York Suburban
Molly is leading her team in scoring this season (16 ppg) as the Trojans get set for the YAIAA tourney and district play.

Boys Basketball
• Casey Lawrence - Delone Catholic
Casey, a senior, is averaging about 15 a game this season. He also will play on a very competitive Delone baseball squad in the spring.
• Ryan Nicholas - Eastern
Ryan is hitting for 16 points a game this season. The senior runs track in the spring for the Golden Knights.

Ice Hockey
• Ryan King - York Suburban
Ryan is the offensive leader on the Trojans squad which is now in first place in the York Tier. Ryan has 31 goals and 12 assists (43 points) which places him fifth in the entire CPIHL in scoring.

Wrestling
• Ryan Smith - Eastern
The 160 pouinder recently won his 100th career match for the Golden Knights.
• Matt Nugent - Central
Matt is the team captain and wrestles at 171 pounds. He also carried the ball as a running back and was the workhorse for the Panther football team in the fall.

Boys Swimming/Diving
• Brian Hudish - Dallastown
Brian is a captain on the team and swims the 100 Breast and Fly and relays for the Wildcats. He is a district and state qualifier.

Girls Swimming/Diving
• Danielle Ierley - Dallastown
Danielle, a senior, is closing in on the school records for the 200 and 500 Free events.
• Margaret Bentley - Dallastown
Margaret is a senior captain on the team. She swims relays, 200 IM, and 100 Fly for the Wildcats.

For Week 4: Saturday, January 14

Girls Basketball
Nelli Beakler - Central
Nelli is a three year starter and captain on the b-ball team and also plays volleyball for the Panthers in the fall.
Jamie Polan - West York
Jamie, a senior team captain, is the Bulldogs top scorer this season with over 200 points. She also plays on the volleyball team for West York.

Boys Basketball
Sean Johnston - York Catholic
Sean has one of the best all-around games in the YAIAA and hopes to help push the Irish far into States this year.
Shaun Hoffman - New Oxford
Shaun, a senior, is one of the leaders on the Colonials squad this season.

Ice Hockey
West York's trio of captains Zack Warner, Alex Heikes, and Team Captain Tom Markey. The three seniors are shooting the West York squad towards a spot in the York Tier playoffs.

Wrestling
Matt Ohl - SouthWestern
Matt was injured and had to sit out the postseason last year. Now at 189 pounds for the Mustangs, the senior is looking to make his mark this year.
Curtis Hardnack - Delone
The senior is one of the top 125 pounders in the YAIAA and should go far into the postseason this year for Delone.

Boys Swimming/Diving
Brian Stabler - New Oxford.
Brian is one of the captains of the team and swims the 100 Breast Stroke and Relays for the Colonials.

Girls Swimming/Diving
Katy Motter - Northeastern
Katy recently broke the school record in the 100 Free. She also plays softball in the spring.
Nicole Flowers - West York
Nicole is a captain for the swim team and competes in the 100 Fly, 100 Back, and relays for the Dogs.

For Week 3: Saturday, January 7

Girls Basketball
Mel Parshall - Northeastern
The senior forward is also a district qualifier in cross-country and a track athlete in the spring.
Ashli Rentzel - Northeastern
The senior plays forward on the basketball team and also goal keeper for the soccer squad.

Boys Basketball
Caleb Walls - Susquehannock.
The all-everything athlete is also one of the top soccer players in the YAIAA and he pitches and roams the outfield for the Warriors in the spring.
Noel Vega - Red Lion
The senior is one of the unsung heroes on the basketball squad, usually found banging in the paint with an opponent for position or battling for rebounds under the basket.

Ice Hockey
Dakota Reinert - Dover
Dakota, a junior, is the leading scorer for the Eagles this season with 20 points,10 goals and 10 assists.
Brian Swords - Dover
Brian, a senior, is the goalie for the team and has a 2.6 GAA in eight games.

Wrestling
Chris Dalheimer - Red Lion
The senior is shooting for a date at the state tournement this season around the 145 pound weight class
Justin Myers - Dallastown
The senior is one of the leaders on a very strong D-town squad this season. Justin wrestles at 160 pounds.

Boys Swimming/Diving
Jonathan Harris - Susquehannock
The senior swims the 200 and 500 Free and various relays for the Warriors.

Girls Swimming/Diving
Rachel Pellissier - Susquehannock
The senior excels in the 100 Fly, 200 Free and relays for the Warriors.
Alyssa Zortman - Red Lion
The senior dives and swims the 100 Back and relays for the Lions.

For Week 2: Saturday, December 31

Girls Basketball
Jess Nease - B ermudian Springs
The senior is the leading scorer and one of the team leaders for the Eagles.
Lauren Beckley - Fairfield
Lauren just broke the record for the most points ever scored in Adams County Girls Basketball.

Boys Basketball
Glyn Hinnekamp - York Suburban
A solid basketball and football player for the Trojans, Glyn is one of the top student-athletes in the YAIAA.
Dave Kline - Bermudian Springs
Dave is the top scorer for the Eagles, averaging over 15 points per game this season.

Ice Hockey
Central's trio of seniors Zack Brown, Dan Altland, and Shane Martin. These three total 21 goals and 42 points for the Panthers who sit tied for third in the Tier 1 East Division.

Wrestling
Noah Glatfelter - Susquehannock
The 119 pounder is off to a great start this season and is ranked as the top in his weight class in the YAIAA. Also a tough soccer player.
Bryce Marshall - Bermudian Springs.
Bryce is one of the leaders for the Eagles squad and "points" everytime he goes on the mat.

Boys Swimming/Diving
Another trio in Alex Grubbs, Joe Bentz, and Matt Appleby of York Suburban. The three are captains for the squad.

Girls Swimming/Diving
Carolyn Rohrbaugh - Spring Grove
The freshman won twice a few weeks ago against Chambersburg and swims the freestyle and fly events for the Rockets.

For Week 1: Friday, December 23

Girls Basketball
Sarah McGowan - Dallastown
The senior hit the 1,000 point mark two weeks ago and is the leader on the Wildcats squad. She has 145 points on the season so far.
Katie Vican - Eastern
The senion reached the 1,000 point mark and is the captain of the Eastern team. Katie has 129 points this season.

Boys Basketball
Justin Seibert - Spring Grove
Justin is scoring at a 14 point-per-game clip this season to lead the Rockets
Justin Althouse - Eastern
One of the inside scorers for the Golden Knights, Justin has 115 points on the season so far. He also plays on their Volleyball team.

Ice Hockey
Beau Roeder - Kennard Dale
Beau is the leading scorer in the entire CPIHL with 20 goals and 14 assists (34 points) for the 8-0 first place Rams.
Jeff Hartman - Kennard Dale
Jeff is the second part of the Rams one-two punch and is currently number two in CPIHL scoring with 18 goals and 15 assists on the year.

Wrestling
Brian Polashuk - Spring Grove
Brian is a captain on this year's squad and is undefeated. He is ranked ninth in the state at 130 pounds and was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the Governor Mifflin tourney.
Rick Schmelyun - Bermudian Springs
The Eagles 135 pounder is one of the leaders on a very strong team. Rick looks to return to states this season.

Boys Swimming/Diving
Anthony Lain - Spring Grove
Anthony recently set the pool record in the 100 Backstroke at 36:11.
Sean Burdette - Spring Grove
Sean was a double winner in diving and the 100 Fly against Chambersburg.

Girls Swimming/Diving
Jessica McInerney - York Suburban
Jess is a senior captain and swims the 200 and 500 Free and the 200 and 400 Free relays for the Trojans.
Angie Hammond - York Suburban
Angie is a senior captian and swims the 100 Fly and the 200 Free relay, 200 MED relay and 400 Free relay.
